I have been a type 1 diabetic since I was 10 years old. I am in excellent control and wear an insulin pump. I am married and have 3 children. My husband works for a company that does not offer health insurance. Since I am diabetic and live in Indiana with a pre-existing condition, the only insurance I can get (offered by the state) has a premium of $485 per month...just for ME! That is with a $1500 deductable. I also pay an out of pocket premium for my husband and three children.
It is so unfair. I am sick about it everytime I pay the premium. I am totally for universal healthcare.
