My previous doctor became ill and was no longer able to practice medicine -- he was a family practitioner and a
nutritionist. It has taken me 6 months to find a doctor
that would accept Medicare. It seems that doctors are
opting out of Medicare. My search occurred even before
the lates cuts on Medicare. I was turned down by two physicians and a holistic medical practice.
In addition to this, I've noticed that my secondary insurance doen's always cover what Medicare doesn't pay. This didn't happen a few years ago but it seems to be
occurring more frequently now. As for the insurance
company, when they have reimbursed me I later find out they reimbursed me "too much" and therefore,I either have to return money or they substract it from ongoing bills. I think it's pretty shoddy work.
