I am unemployed once again. Just like the last time I was laid off from work~I cannot afford health coverage for myself.
Since I am no longer a mother with children at home there is no help available to me.
The coverage package for single unemployed people runs around $350.00 a month. That is out of my price range with the income that I have coming in.
I am not old enough to get any benefits of being a senior.
It is a shame that people like myself, who have worked for years and then are laid off cannot attain help with health benefits.
We have a public health system in Columbus.
But I have an excellent physician and I do not want to transfer my care into a system that changes personnel frequently. And there are other health related services that those clinics do not provide.
It bothers me that after all the tax dollars that I have paid out~there has been no provisions made for single people. The coverage deductable is sky high and the plan is not that extensive.
