I rushed my 7 year old son to the emergency room after he had passed out at school. Upon arriving, they checked his oxygen intake to find out that he was @ 60% (had he been an adult, he may not have pulled through). I did not have to make the choice between getting him the care that he so desperately needed or filing for bankruptcy. He had qualified for "hawk-i", our state's SCHP program. Had we not had that I would have surely been forced into bankruptcy to pay his hospitalization. He is now a controlled asthmatic 12 year old boy able to run and play outside most days because of the inhalers he uses. I am so disgusted with the current Presidential administration and the total lack of disregard for the working family. Shame on you, George Bush, shame on you. I hope someday that you are not faced with the difficult decision to seek medical help for a family member or watch your home go into foreclosure. Shame on you!
