My family has multiple pre-existing conditions. I am self-employed and have to provide my own health insurance. In order to get coverage I had to find a group plan that would cover us without underwriting or exclusions. I found a payroll service that had a group plan that required me to pay for their service and go through a complicated process which involves them essentially paying me money I already have been paid. This costs several hundred dollars per month and essentially incurs double taxation for me. At least I get health care coverage but the total cost for three of us is over $1500 per month. I can't go anywhere else and if they raise the premium to $2,000 or $3,000 or more I will have no recourse. We need Universal Health Care Coverage. This is an outrage. If anyone knows of group coverage I can get somewhere else please let me know. I'm struggling to afford the premiums and I earn a good income. What do people who don't make a lot of money do? In the richest country in the world this should not exist. I'm tired of seeing the rich get richer at the expense of everyone else. We must all do something together!
