Hello,
I am full time employeed and have been for over 20 years. My husband is also and has been for over 20 years. I have double insurance - mine thru my employeer, and am also coverd thru my husbands.....so you would think I would have no problem getting the health care that I need......well this is not the case. I have a complete and total spinal fusion from when I was young. Because of that - my muscles are twisted and turned in an abnormal way thus causing much pain to my body and the only way to reconstruct my body is to have deep tissue massage therapy on it to get it to the point of my being able to function as a normal person and to treat myself when the first sign of pain comes along. I have been seeing a deep tissue massage therapist, and have had great success.......but my insurances (both of them) have now refused my continued treatment with this and won't cover me because THEY said it is a "maintenance" issue rather than a "reconstructive" issue. This was labeled as such by THEIR people.....not by my therapis. So I am now resorting to perscription Pain Pills (which the insurance companies WILL pay for) until I can afford to get back in to my therapist and pay for it completely out of my own pocket. It's so amazing to me that the insurance companies would rather DRUG us than FIX us. There is definitly something wrong with this country when it comes to healthcare......and if fact it should be called DRUGcare, not healthcare.
