I had COBRA coverage for myself and my daughter after the company that I worked for was sold and the division that I worked at was closed and moved. I paid the premiums online in three month increments. I transposed two digits in the account number and my payment was not credited. I was not notified and I was cancelled but only after I had made an additional payment.
I have pre-existing conditions that make it impossible for me to have health insurance without working for a large corporation that has the leverage to make insurance companies cover me at a reasonable cost. The government of the United States should also have the leverage to compel the health insurance industry to provide adequate coverage for all at a reasonable cost.
