Girard, IL

I am a senior citizen. Because of a car wreck I was unable to work because of a back injury which did not allow me to finish paying into social security for my last quarter after paying into social security over 25 years. At 61 I had to apply for early disability but was allowed to only
collect 1/2 of my deceased husbands
social security who was also a notch baby.
At age 73 I have had extensive back surgery
to correct a rotating spine with rods placed
in my back in Aug. 2006, Feb. 2, 2007 I had
gallbladder surgery and a hyrnia repair and
in Feb. 2008 I had to have cataracts removed
from both eyes. With Medicare plan A and B
and with private insurance I still had to pay
a good amount out of pocket. I have sleep
apthia and have to sleep under oxygen at night. I receive about 900 dollars in social
security which has to go for medical bill(Iam an insulin dependent diabetic, utility bills(each has doubled running over 500 a month in winter time, water bill which has also doubled to 25.00 a month, and
food. I do not own a car. I am now unable to
pay my bills and keep up my health insurance
payments. I now have to rely on my son to
survive each month. This is grossly unfair.
To have worked all my life and now live in
poverty.
