Nicholas

New York, NY

I am a father of 2 sons with duchenne muscular dystrophy, on passed away at age 15 and one is among the longest living persons in the world with a tracheotomy and survives with a ventilator..he is totally disabled wheelchair and bed confined, and in addition he is afflicted with cardiomyopathy, cardiomegaly, scoliosis, dysphagia and is colonized with MRSA.He requires 24/7 experienced nursing care.and is diagnosed as being in a constant state of Emergency.I have a long history of being a major supporter in the fight to find a treatment and cure for this deadly desease. I am living a nightmare being involved with a long legal battle with New York State Medicaid, as they are trying to cancel my sons medicaid benefits which would result in my sons death..In addition, my quarterly premium with a major insurance health carrier is almost $4,000.00.plus the additional costs of keeping my son alive..I am fortunate enough to have the wherewithal to provide these costs, but how do so many American families in similar situations manage??...Health care costs are outraegously high... and must come down..our U.S.elected officials have a responsibility to all Americans to keep us healthy and alive.I would like some guidance or information from anyone who has had a similar experience to call or write me to compare our experiences and join forces to proceed to the highest courts in America to fight this injustice.
