I am 39 years old, and was diagnosed with Type 1/Juvenille diabetes, when I was 4 years of age. I never in my life feared that I was not able to get my medication. Now I fear it every month. I have sleepless nights. The cost of my medications are rising through the roof with corporate greed. We have insurance, but with all the co-pays and appointment co-pays, it does "not pay" to use the insurance. So where do I end up going? Walmart. It still cost us over $200 a month. I buy the insulin of yesteryear. I buy the basic stuff to get by. I can't afford to buy the newer better insulin.

The way things are now with our failing economy, I have gone days without testing my sugar levels, because I have to pay the electric bill, $4 a gallon gas, rising food prices or my blood glucose testing strips. I never thought I would see the day. I am not asking for a free ride, I am asking for fair health care cost. I am willing to pay for my life, but I want to be able to pay reasonable prices. It does not matter if you are poor, middle class or wealthy. Life should not cost you your life.

Thanks for listening,
