It's my brothers story. He was self employed and couldn't afford health care. He knew he was having serious bowel problems but couldn't afford to go to the doctor. By the time he could go to the doctor his colon cancer was so far advanced that they gave him 18 months to live at best. The hospital had to treat him and his care was inferior with no follow up once they did chemo, radiation and surgery and told him they got it all (they thought)they let him go with not required follow up. Well his cancer came back and again he suffered through more treatments until his pain was unbearable. He fought the good fight for 4.5 yrs, at 47 yrs old he felt he was too young to die. He was too young to die, and if he had affordable health care, he may not have had to go through the agony he did if his cancer was caught and treated early. This is a damn shame and I'm certain he's not the only one who has suffered this same way.
