I was diagnosed with end stage liver disease.I had insurance from Pacificare(wonderful by the way)I was told I would need a liver transplant to survive. I will never forget the day when the business rep at the hospital looked at me and said"If your insurance won't cover the transplant, you are going to die"At that moment my fight for universal health care began.

We hear buzz words like "culture of life". It seems to me to mean "culture of checkbook".If you have enough money you can be saved. If not then we will just throw you away.

I now have to but my health insurance from the state high-risk pool.I pay 200% of what a normal person my age would pay.I don't want much I just want the same health insurance congress has.

It is time that we wake up and make sure that everyone has access to healthcare no matter their financial situation.
