PRO-REFORM ADVOCATES OUTNUMBERING TEA PARTIERS AT EVENTS NATIONWIDE

Contrary to the narrative created by disproportionate media attention, there are more people in favor of comprehensive health care reform than against it, and they are speaking out across the country.

Illinois -
On March 10th, rumors started to percolate about a Tea Party “Vote Down Health Care” event to be held at Representative Melissa Bean’s (IL-8) district office in Schaumburg, Illinois.  At noon on March 11th, 80 Health Care for America Now (HCAN) and Organizing for America (OFA) leaders were waving signs and chanting outside Bean’s district office while 23 Tea Party members tried in vain to compete.

Michigan – After Issuing a “Code Red” for protest outside Mark Schauer’s (MI-7) Jackson, Michigan office, pro-reform advocates outnumbered opponents at least 2 to 1.

WKHM- AM: IT WAS A LARGE VOCAL CROWD THAT HAD ASSEMBLED FROM ALL OVER THE SEVENTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT AND SOME FROM BEYOND. MOST OF THOSE ASSEMBLED WERE IN SUPPORT OF HEALTH CARE REFORM.

Another pro-reform
rally took place on Saturday at the Federal Building in Grand Rapids with no opposition present.

North Carolina – On March 11th, people rallied in downtown Raleigh in front of Congressman Bob Etheridge’s (NC-2) office to show their support for reform. HCAN outnumbered the anti-reform Tea Party crowd about 5 to 1.
